It's official...and by "it" I mean several things.
I am officially REALLY bad at finding time to write new posts for my blog...whoops! It's definitely not for lack of material. I have so many ideas and drafts, just not the time to put it all together for my lovely readers (and viewers, for those that come just to look at the pictures, because let's face it, I ain't no good at writin'!). So, with that said...I am not going anywhere. I love this medium as an outlet and a way to document memories with my family, special moments in life, sharing these things with our family and friends, etc. I am hoping over time, I will develop a better routine (HA!) and be more steadily available for you reading/viewing pleasure :)
I am also officially REALLY glad I didn't just succumb to all those times I had an idea for the blog...let me explain. This holiday season would appear to be my laziest/slack-iest(?) yet. I didn't decorate all crazy, didn't write Christmas cards this year, didn't finish all the baking, didn't craft every craft, didn't sew every stitch, etc. I am SO glad I didn't finish my crazy self-inflicted "to-do-or-else-you-will-feel-like-you-let-everyone-down-even-though-they-know-nothing-of-your-crazy-hair-brained-ideas" list. For the first time, there were days that I literally did nothing on my list. Now, some may say I had a really great excuse (Baby on the way!), but that wouldn't normally stop me. Something clicked and I realized that if I had managed to fulfill my high expectations of myself, I would have been miserable and lonely this past month, doing things instead of laughing and playing with my family. I spent so much idle time...it was fantastic! A great gift to myself as well as my family. At first, I felt uneasy and guilty...but after seeing the effects it has had on my children, who now think I should never get ANYTHING done, I am fairly certain I have a whole new learning curve to tend to in terms of scheduling my time.
I am also officially REALLY excited to announce the birth of our beautiful new addition, child number three, daughter number two, and the number one and only, Lennon Wren! She was born Thursday, December 19, 2013, after a fairly easy ten and a half hour labor, super fast considering my other two slow pokes :) She measured in at 20.5 inches, 7 pounds 15 ounces, wide eyed and wonderfully healthy with the cutest tuft of dark hair at the nape of her neck! Jude and Rio are infatuated and so incredibly loving. Shane and I have a hard time sharing her, not only with other people, but with each other as well. We need to walk around with an egg timer to keep things fair...even though we all know I am the boss!
and lastly (for now)...
I am also officially REALLY tired, and ready to check out of the hospital, go home with my baby and enjoy this awesome holiday with my little family!
